BIO & RESUME
BIOGRAPHY Benito Rangel de Maria was born in Michoacan, Mexico, and formally educated in the United States and Europe. While in college, he traveled extensively, studying art history in Paris and Madrid. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Art from Lake Forest College in Chicago, he completed a study program at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. He later joined the ARCH Foundation in Lugano, Switzerland, where he coordinated conservation and restoration projects. The years following his return to the United States in 1999, have been a time of exploration, self expression and conviction, as they mark the beginning of his career as a full time artist. Rangel de Maria now resides in Seattle, where he continues to develop his body of work.
